Happy! Ending 2

  After arrive to Sapporo on 3 am, Yabu, Inoo and Risako took a taxi to a small town for the port. From there, they’ll take a ferry to the small island. Luckily, they come to the place after being asked by someone and the expense are all supported by them. Everything goes well from Sapporo to the town, and from the town to the island. However, as they reach the island, they see no village.

 “Hey, Kids!”

 They turn their face to the left, a tall guy with smart looking outfit is smiling to them.

 “You kids are coming here to look for the Seven Wonders, are you?”

 “Yes.”

 “The village is located behind the woods. Shall we go together?”

 Inoo smiles, “with pleasure,” Inoo make a hand sign to have the guy walk first, the ettique of a boy from rich family comes out, the guy smiled.

 “No, we’ll walk together.” now, it is the guy’s turn to make them walk first. “I’ll catch you up!” the guy say before he go back to the ferry to get some of his luggage, big luggage as if he’ll stay there for months.

 Inoo walks first, followed by Yabu and Risako. They enters the woods and in few moments, the guy is beside them. Inoo keep walking, he doesn’t look comfortable with that guy but he still doing his best to show his manner.

 “I’m Katsuragi Naoki, I’m from Tokyo. I love mysteries. I’ve come to this island last year to witness the wonders but I could seen only one, I’m not a lucky person! I hope I could witness it this year!”

 “My name is Inoo Kei. This one is Yabu Kota and this girl is Sugaya Risako. We’re from Tokyo too”

 “Oh! Then, why did you come here?”

 “Like others, looking for mysteries!” Inoo answer with fake excited voice.

 Fooled by Inoo’s acting, “Really! Totally great to hear this!!”

 “Yup, we’re happy too! We’re from Midorigaoka High School’s Mystery Club. We want to make an article about mysterious Seven Wonder of this island.”

 “Oh, it is amazing to see kids like you guys can travel this far, how old are you guys?” the guy Naoki keep asking questions.

 “We’re 16.” Inoo lied.

 “So young!”

They are out of topic… The situation seems to be so silent. The silence is cutted by Risako,

 “Kyaa~ Sna~ke~”

Risako runs to the front and get Inoo and Yabu to run along with her leaving Naoki alone. Naoki, however, doesn’t give any reaction to it but keep walking calmly. They run till they reach the village. It is a normal village like others and the calmness also soothing. They stop running nor walking but looking at the surrounding. Few moments later, Risako walks slowly to a bank near them, she looks down to it and saw a small river running.

 “What’s wrong?” Inoo approaching Risako and as he stand beside Risako, he looks at what Risako is looking at.

 “I heard someone walking just now…”

 “Maybe it is just a villagers here,” Yabu starts walking down the hill using the tarred road.

 Risako and Inoo followed, as they walk, they saw a woman with two children. Both are girls. They observe them, the woman is walking, leaving those two kids behind while the kids are catching up after her. The woman is wearing an old fashion polka dot dress with dull gray in color. She got brown eyes with black hair. Her wavy hair makes her look old and ugly, with stains on her face and hands, including the dirty boots she’s wearing. The first kid looking nice with bright purple dress and cutesy look shoes. Her pretty face shines with her small smile. The fair skin is perfect impeccably. While, the second kid, looking all ugly, the tanned skin and the squint eyes, it totally doesn’t suits the first kid. The clothe are torn, dull and tear.

 The woman staring them with pair of sharp and hatred eyes. Risako runs from the woman’s eyes, Yabu keep looking while Inoo put a smile and bow. As the woman and the kids walk away, Risako sigh a relief and make a small laugh to herself.

 “People here can’t accept outsiders.” Naoki suddenly appeared from their back.

 “Why not?” Inoo asks.

 “It is an old story… few years ago… The villagers haven’t ready to accept outsiders after all that happen despite having plenty of outsiders coming here everyday…”

 “Do you mind telling us, so that we can be more careful?”

 Naoki just put a bitter smile and leave using the left road. Before he go, he give Inoo a piece of paper, it is the name of the motel he is staying, along with the room number. After keeping the paper into his wallet, Inoo get his diary book and look for the address of the promised mansion.

 “From the map given, we’ll reach from the entrance over there,” Inoo point his finger to the place near the bank,

 “Then, we’ll go straight, means, here, where we’re standing. In front of us, there’ll be 2 minor road, the left is going to the fields while the right one is going to the… a bit isolated area, there’s not many houses here compare to the left road…”

 “I guess, we’ll need to walk using this road,” Inoo pointed to the untarred road.

As they go into the road, a man walk by, a man with fierce eyes and well-built body. The muscles looks so firm and hard, his move is fast and unreachable.

 “I wonder who is he.” Risako wondering.

 “Doesn’t looks like one of the villagers.” Yabu gives his opinion.

 “Yup, his clothes looks… expensive for a villagers…”

They continue walking…
